Lib Dems call for home care improvements

Jaeger• [Dec 09]: IN the wake of the recent critical Equalities and Human Rights Commission inquiry into home care services, Liberal Democrats are calling on Richmond Council to make significant improvements to its services.

Cllr Liz Jaeger, Lib Dem opposition spokesperson for adult social care, says: "Given the concerns of the Equalities and Human Rights Commission about.the quality of home care, I am calling on the cabinet member to ensure.that the procurement process for domiciliary home care services, agreed at.cabinet in November, will ensure that home carers are given enough time to properly carry out their care tasks, sufficient training, and pay above the London Living wage level."
