• THE freezing conditions during January led to an increase in the number of potholes appearing in roads and pavements, and Richmond Council is keen to deal with those which could cause injuries.
In response to these freezing conditions and winter's snow, the Council is using its website to allow residents and drivers to report the more serious potholes, following the snow.
Cllr David Trigg, Richmond Council's Cabinet Member for Traffic, Transport and Parking, said: "We have already carried out inspections on major routes in the borough ourselves, but we want people to tell us about the worst potholes they see near where they live. Once we receive reports, we can assess how serious they are and the worst will be filled quickly. Clearly, we can't promise to fix every pothole straight away, our resources are already being well used, but the more reports we receive, the more likely it is the dangerous ones will be given attention."
Residents can report potholes online or by phoning 08456 122660.
