• WORKSHOPS are being held across Richmond upon Thames during June where residents and businesses can tell the Council http://www.richmond.gov.uk/ldf>how they would like to the borough to look in the coming years.
Richmond Council is currently producing a Local Development Framework, which includes guidance on what types of developments should be approved or refused to ensure high standards are maintained in the borough. This consultation is to help prepare detailed policies to manage development, following the adoption of the Council's Core Strategy which sets out the framework to guide where new housing, employment, shops, leisure and community facilities will go, and what open land will be protected. The evening workshops to be held during June 2009 are:
Biodiversity, open land, the River Thames and other open uses (including sport and recreation) - Tuesday 16 June 2009; 6:30 to 8:30pm at York House, Clarendon Hall, Twickenham
• Whitton Town Centre - Thursday 18 June 2009; 7:00 to 9:00pm at Murray Park Hall, Whitton
• Flooding - Tuesday 23 June 2009; 6:30 to 8:30pm at York House, Clarendon Hall, Twickenham
• East Sheen Town Centre - Thursday 25 June 2009; 7:00 to 9:00pm at Sheen Lane Centre, East Sheen
• Teddington Town Centre - Tuesday 30 June 2009; 7:00 to 9:00pm at St Mary's Parish Hall, High Street, Teddington
Consultation documents will be available at www.richmond.gov.uk/ldf or from the environment reception in the Civic Centre in Twickenham shortly before each meeting, so interested people can read them in advance.
