End Of Post Office Card Account Leaves More Post Offices Under Threat - Kramer

[Nov 07]: Susan Kramer has warned that more post offices in our area could be forced to close.
Her claim follows news the leaked news this week that the Government is to scrap the Post Office Card Account (POCA.). More than 3,000 Post Offices across the country could be closed because of the Government's decision. She criticised the decision: "This is a bad decision for the community, and for the often vulnerable customers of the Post Office. Customers who have chosen to stay with the account will now be forced out into the commercial world, at a time when trust in banks is at an all-time low. The Government has been running down our Post Offices, removing the services that local communities rely on. This latest decision will simply give them the excuse to close even more Post Offices in the future. I will be raising these issues at a special debate in Parliament on Monday, and will be calling on the Government to safeguard the future of all our local post offices."
