• THE business plan for the proposed River Centre on Twickenham Riverside will top the agenda at a meeting of Richmond Council's Co-ordination, Finance and Performance Commission on Tuesday, 4 November.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting to be held at 7pm at York House, Twickenham. Chair of the Commission, Cllr Sue Jones, said: "The regeneration of Twickenham Riverside is close to many people's hearts and this meeting will be an opportunity to scrutinise how the River Centre aspect of the project is developing. The Commission has a vital role in scrutinising the Riverside project and I urge as many people as possible to come along to the meeting."
Up to nine members of the public will be able to speak at the meeting. A final list of speakers will be confirmed on the day before the meeting. The Leader of the Council, Cllr Serge Lourie, Council officers and representatives of the Environment Trust will respond to questions on the night. There will also be a public display, including plans of the scheme, available from 6pm and Council officers will be present to answer questions.

• The report under consideration provides a summary of progress on the development of plans for the Twickenham Riverside site since the report to the Finance and Strategy Overview and Scrutiny Committee in April 2008. It focuses on the key issues of the Environment Trust for Richmond-upon-Thames` draft Business Case for the River Centre element of the development. It also summarises progress on the wider development proposals.
• The Co-ordination, Finance and Performance Commission is the lead scrutinising committee for the Twickenham Riverside regeneration, super-ceding the role of the Finance and Strategy Overview and Scrutiny Committee. It is asked to note and comment on progress to date.
