The £30m rebuild of Teddington School moved a step closer this week as Richmond Council appointed a contractor to undertake the project.
International management and construction company, Mace Plus Ltd, won a competitive tender process to build the new, state-of-the-art facility, which promises to be one of the most advanced and sustainable in the country. Subject to planning approval, the rebuild is due to begin in 2008 and be completed by November 2009.
Cllr Stephen Knight said: "The appointment of Mace Plus is a key development and keeps the project, which has a very tight time frame, on track. The company was a clear winner in the tendering process due to its expertise in building high-quality education facilities. We will work be working closely with Mace Plus, the design team, Teddington School and the wider community throughout the planning process, to ensure the rebuild brings maximum benefits to the local area."
