Susan Kramer helping build a mosaic with Bernadette Vallely
Last Friday (26th March), Susan Kramer, Lib Dem Prospective Candidate for Richmond Park went to visit the Save the World Club at the Welsh Hall in Elm Road.
Susan Kramer said; "The Save the World Club have done an extraordinary job in Kingston by encouraging youngsters to help create impressive mosaics to cover up graffiti. What is particularly interesting about the mosaics aside from their artistic merit is the fact that local youths have been given a great chance to use their artistic talents creatively, in a community context. This approach has proven much more successful than traditional approaches to tackling graffiti since after projects have been completed, they are rarely if at all vandalised."
"During my visit last Friday I was particularly interested to hear from Bernadette Vallely, the Development Officer of the Save the World Club. She told me that they are looking into plans to expand into Richmond Borough with possible projects being considered for Kew Station and the Ham Estate. Given the success of their projects in Kingston, I very much hope that they will be able to achieve this."
