Following the publication of the RPA report detailing the new traffic measures for Richmond Park including the 12 months trial closure of Robin Hood Gate and the reduction in size of Pen Ponds, Jenny Tonge MP set up a consultation exercise to see if the views of local people have been taken into account.
To date 4,500 consultation documents have been hand delivered to constituents in the Coombe Hill area, who will be directly affected by the closure of Robin Hood Gate.
Jenny Tonge MP: "We have had a tremendous response from the consultation and my office is still receiving around 30 consultation documents a day from constituents concerned about the plans. "
"A considerable number of people who have sent back my questionnaire state that this is the first time they have been consulted about traffic changes in the Park. I find this concerning as the RPA had promised a full and in depth consultation on the traffic proposals yet many respondents to my questionnaire seemed unaware that any such consultation had taken place. I hope that the RPA will listen to what local people have to say."
Once the data from Jenny Tonge MP's consultation exercise has been collated it will be presented to the Royal Parks Agency on behalf of her constituents. If you are concerned about the plans for Richmond Park please write to Richmond Park Liberal Democrats to request a questionnaire at the address below.
